ENRICH: Learning & Development (L&D)

Objective

‘Enrich’ initiative provides a structured approach of learning and development at organisation level causing enrichment of skills and knowledge of the team members. The objective of learning and development programs in the organization is to make sure availability of a skilled and willing workforce.

Process
  • The training needs are captured during performance appraisals or during the course of the job.
  • The training needs are proposed by immediate reporting manager based upon the observations on job execution , need felt to improve competency levels based on performance outputs or the employee himself may feel the need to improve his skill.
  • A need based training calendar at organization level or department level is prepared for execution of programs at periodic intervals.
  • HR and HOD may nominate the team member/s for outbound training, external instructor based training conducted in a classroom or online training program.
  • In-house training programs are scheduled need based from time to time to cover the needs of the employees by identifying suitable and competent trainers who are experts in respective field.
  • Online training programs are the latest technological advancement in this field.
  • Trainings and Conference recommendations are made to good institutes at national or international level.
  • Anyone recommended for training or conference overseas have to sign a agreement to continue in service atleast one year post completion of training, any violation would lead to the recovery of the training and travel amount spent by the company on the employee on separation.
  • The information of training programs and conferences attended since joining is updated in ESS thus tracking the progress of development.
Internal Programs
  • Various technical or functional programs are conducted in-house by the identified trainers or senior members of the departments to train their subordinates or new entrants to give insights about the technical aspects.
  • The training programs may also become a part of the orientation program where either functional programs or soft skills programs may be imparted.
  • The front line staff is provided with the product related and soft skills trainings programs regularly.
External Programs
  • Nomination to external training programs conducted by educational institutes, training institutes or related organisations in same field. The program agenda is properly studied to check suitability to the need of the training for team members.
  • External trainers maybe invited to conduct trainings to larger mass in the company. The trainers are identified through a selection process and screening. They are briefed on the training needs and the program is customized to cater to the competency gaps of individuals.

Training effectiveness is measured through feedback from reporting manager, individual feedback and observation of improvement in the functional understanding, also displayed through the improved outcomes.
